The nature of Tuscany shows itself in all its splendor in this nature trail immersed in one of the greenest and most magnificent places in the province of Arezzo. Val di Chio, in fact, is a real naturalistic jewel, so much that the Duke Leopold of Lorraine himself also defined it as the “Valley of God”. An ideal place for tireless trekking lovers who will be conquered by the history and splendor of this valley just a few kilometers from Castiglion Fiorentino.
A pleasant itinerary starting from a panoramic point in Castiglion Fiorentino and which sweeps across the entire Valdichiana. From here, with an environmental guide, you will walk towards South straight to Val di Chio, crossing woods and pine forests, and then you will finish the route at the Castle of Montecchio, the medieval manor in the best state of conservation of the entire area, which overlooks both valleys.
The return will be by car along a panoramic road, until arriving at the starting point in a circular route. The duration of the trek is approximately 4 hours. During the trek there will be stops to recover energy, have a packed lunch and admire the most beautiful views of the Valdichiana. Comfortable clothing, backpack, water, sunscreen in summer and a camera are recommended.
