The two elements of Greek mythology Eros, namely love as a generating force and Thanatos, death as a destructive force, are the protagonists of this artistic tour of Lucignano, a characteristic borgo with a spiral shape maintained since the distant Middle Ages which still encloses the visitor in a fascinating atmosphere.
A guide will accompany you on this itinerary and will introduce you to the precious treasures kept in the culture and faith places of Lucignano. At the Civic Museum you will experience the powerful charm of the Tree of Love also known as the Tree of Life or the Golden Tree, made in 120 years of work (1350-1471). It is a unique reliquary of its kind, so much that it was chosen to be exhibited during the 2015 Milan Expo.
Later, you will move to the Church of San Francesco where you can admire the beautiful fresco of "The triumph of death" (14th century), a clear representation of the defeat of the living people and of their inevitable end. At the end of the tour, after getting lost in the many streets of Lucignano and learning about its history, the guide will leave you for an aperitif based on typical Tuscan products and wines.
